The RCCC History and Mission in Hertford County
The founders of RCCC established the local college in 1967, recognizing the need to better prepare local people with relevant job skills in an increasingly competitive world.

Campuses and Locations: Ahoskie and Beyond
RCCC offers two campus locations – Ahoskie and Lewiston-Woodville.
The first is their main campus, located at 109 Community College Rd., Ahoskie, NC. This site provides the majority of program offerings.
It also houses a Small Business Development Center with many courses that support small business development in the area. Each SBDC course is free to local business professionals from Ahoskie or any other town in the region. Many SBDC classes are offered during the day, but others are at night, striking a nice balance for working people in the Ahoskie area.
Ahoskie, NC Campus and Directions
Ahoskie is a town in Hertford County, North Carolina, a family oriented town with a population of 4,523 as of the 2000 census. The town is in North Carolina’s Inner Banks region and earned the nickname “The Only One” due to its unique name. In fact, the town is proud that there is no other American city with the same name. The town name was originally spelled “Ahotskey.”
The word Ahoskie dates back to the Wyanoke Indians who entered the Hertford County area during the beginning of European settlement.
Ahoskie is situated at 36°17′11″N 76°59′11″W / 36.28639°N 76.98639°W / 36.28639; -76.98639 (36.286439, -76.986436) and has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km²), all of which is land.
Lewiston-Woodville Campus
The second campus, the Lewiston-Woodville Educational Vitality Center, is located on Main Street in Lewiston-Woodville, North Carolina, and serves Bertie County. Partnered with the Bertie County Hive House and the Town of Lewiston-Woodville, helping students with college and career readiness and the computer skills that are a must in today’s world.
